More than 60 Darlington Band Students performs with the District Honor Band after receiving placement from their audition.
On Monday, December 5, 2022, students from various districts, including Chesterfield, Dillon, Florence 1, Florence 2, Florence 3, Marion, and others gathered at Hartsville Middle School to audition for the District Honor Band. Students who receive placement in the District Honor Band participated and performed with the District Honor Band Clinic on this past Saturday. Mr. Johnson, Director of Bands for Darlington High School, says "Words cannot express how proud I am of the progress of the students not just from our schools, but all of the schools. Since the COVID pandemic, this has been a long time coming. Allowing students to participate in activities such as this, raises their scholarship potential and confidence".
