Darlington Band Alumni Jordan Jefferson appointed as Assistant Principal at Manning High School







Jordan Jefferson is a 2009 graduate of Mayo Magnet School for Math, Science and Technology. Jordan became a member of the Marching Falcons in 2005 under the direction of Mr. Ernest Stackhouse. Jordan Jefferson was also under the leadership of former director of Mayo High School, Mr. Dwight James. While in marching band, Jordan had the pleasure of serving as trumpet section leader as well as receiving placement in various honor bands such as the district and region bands. Mr. Jefferson was an amazing trumpet player with a wealth of experience. Jordan Jefferson received his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from the American College of Education.


After High School Mr. Jefferson attended Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC where he majored in Music Education. After graduating from Claflin University in 2013, Mr. Jefferson

accepted the position as Director of Bands and Chorus at Spaulding Middle School in Lamar, SC. His programs and students flourished under his direction. In 2017, Mr. Jefferson accepted the position as Director of Bands at Manning High School. Under his direction, the Manning High School Band Program has grown in musicianship and members receiving top ratings at band competitions and concert

evaluations.


Mr. Jefferson will now serve as an Assistant Principal at Manning High School effective immediately. Mr. Jefferson has a great relationship with the students of manning and is loved and adored by the Manning Community.


Mr. Johnson stated that "Jordan and I were in beginner band together in 7th grade under

the leadership of Mr. Ron Parrish. We always knew Jordan would end up being a principal at someone's school. I'll never forget the day when Jordan had to act as Martin Luther King. Man was I moved by Jordan's actions. I'm proud to not only call Jordan a colleague, but a friend."
