Assistant Director of Bands, Johnus Greenlee chosen for St. Johns Elementary Educator of the Year

Mr. Johnus Greenlee, selected for the 2018-2019 St. John's Elementary Educator of the Year Award.






Mr. Johnus Greenlee is the Music Teacher at St. John's Elementary School in Darlington, SC. He is a native of Chicago, IL where he begin his musical career. Mr. Greenlee earned his Bachelors of Art in Music from Bethune-Cookman University in 2018. He later accepted the position as Assistant Director of Bands for Darlington High School where he specializes in Brass instrumentalist. While only being at St. John's Elementary School for a year, Mr. Greenlee has brought a lot of excitement to the campus and to the lives of the young students. Mr. Greenlee has increased the participation in the arts at St. John's by having students perform and engage in show choir and concert choir. He began many programs at St. John's that brought public recognition to the school. One in particular was the St. John's Elementary Talent Show. This allowed many community members, families, and friends to come to the campus of St. John's Elementary and witness many students showcase their talents. Mr. Greenlee is really up to something good in Darlington County. He recently began instrumental music at the campus of St. John's Elementary, offering students a chance to learn how to play instruments such as Trumpet, Flute, Alto Saxophone, Clarinet, Trombone, Baritone, & Percussion. Dr. Kinloch, Principal of St. John's Elementary says, "Mr. Greenlee is just an absolute blessing to our school. He has really brought a ray of sunshine to St. John's Elementary School."
